The Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 mandated a new online Pilots Records Database (PRD) system for air carriers and certain other operators. On June 29, 2020, CAA filed Comments on the Pilots Records Database Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.
CAA strongly supports the establishment and maintenance of a Pilots Records Database and commented that an enhanced electronic system would improve safety by providing more complete information in the hiring process.
A Final Rule was issued on June 10, 2021.
