On August 20, 2020. the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) proposing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) standards for certain types of aircraft.
CAA supports the EPA’s position to move forward to harmonize with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards on GHG emissions, with some modifications. Technical corrections are necessary to ensure uniformity and consistency. Certain text changes would also make clear applicability of the rule in the cargo aircraft environment when certification and type designs of aircraft can change with conversions from passenger to cargo.
