Washington, D.C. – The Cargo Airline Association (CAA), the leading voice for the air cargo industry, extends its sincere congratulations to Sean Duffy on his overwhelmingly bipartisan confirmation as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). With a distinguished career in the U.S. House of Representatives, and a deeply personal connection to transportation safety, Secretary Duffy is well-equipped to lead the Department with the experience and vision necessary to safeguard and strengthen America’s transportation systems.
“We are excited to welcome Secretary Duffy into this important role,” said CAA President Lauren Beyer. “His extensive experience in Congress makes him an ideal leader for DOT. We look forward to working closely with him to enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our nation’s aviation infrastructure.”
During his tenure in the House, Duffy demonstrated a deep understanding of transportation policy and earned bipartisan praise for his work to improve infrastructure.
“Expanding market access, fostering competition and strengthening the global air transportation network are critical to enabling American cargo carriers to connect, compete and succeed on the world stage,” said Beyer. “At the same time, the safety of our transportation network – especially our national airspace – must remain the top priority for Secretary Duffy and DOT. We are confident that under his leadership, DOT will continue to advance policies that prioritize both safety and growth.”
CAA looks forward to partnering with Secretary Duffy and his team to advance policies that benefit the air cargo industry, modernize and strengthen U.S. infrastructure, and enhance the safety and global competitiveness of our transportation systems.
