WASHINGTON, DC (February 20, 2025) – Miami International Airport (MIA), a leading hub for international cargo, has joined the Cargo Airline Association (CAA), the foremost advocacy group for the air cargo industry, as an Airport Associate member. This partnership underscores MIA’s ongoing dedication to expanding and optimizing its global cargo operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Miami International Airport to the CAA community,” said CAA President Lauren Beyer. “MIA’s strategic importance in the global air cargo network, particularly its deep and robust connections to Latin America and the Caribbean, makes it an invaluable asset to our organization. We anticipate a strong collaboration with MIA as we work to advance the interests of the air cargo industry.”
MIA plays a crucial role in international trade, handling more than 2.7 million tons of air cargo in 2023. Its strategic location, coupled with extensive infrastructure and intermodal connectivity, positions MIA as a key global gateway for many different types of commodities, including perishables and pharmaceuticals.
